185 Jug at 2920fps ready for F/TR

Doing some 185 testing.. cool spring. Varget and I am right on 2700fps with flattened primers. 30" 11 twist Krieger. magnetospeed.

Super long throat too.

over 2900fps???? That would be quite the load for sure.

What bore/groove dimensions?

Marksman63,
Let me add that the RS52 powder you are using may get hotter with age. As it loses moisture the nitro gets closer to the surface of the powder grains. I base this on my experience with N550 that after 4-5 years got hot enough to blow primers at the same charge weight that was used with success in the previous years. I had this issue at Camp Perry and asked Kevin Thomas if he could get an answer from VHITAVOURI. The second sentence of this post was their answer.
Just an FYI.

That is interesting, and I won't say they're wrong. I do have another data point, though. I have a can of ~15 year old N540 that does not exhibit this behavior, and for much of it's life it was stored in the dry, dry air of Wyoming. I'll definitely be watchful though...

We are talking about custom F/TR rifles with very long throat and custom match loads using Lapua Palma cases.

Concerning cold and warm weathers I generally tune my loads accordingly using Quickload, fixing max pressure and speed. It works very well, however I stay safe not reaching high pressures

How long is your throat?

What is quickload telling you the pressure is in this 2920 ftps load?

Depends on which shot he is on! ;)

My rifle has been throated to suit the 185gn Juggernaut specifically. That is with the bullet seated with the shank to tail section junction level with the bottom of the case-neck when just off the rifling lands.

I recommend anyone trying to replicate this result do so with caution. A .140 free bore is not particularly long for 185 jugs. .188 is pretty typical. The poster has observed some good results. Hopefully they continue to pan out. I will remind everyone that quickload is an approximation of a complex reaction with plenty of data points that sum up things you cant measure to get you pretty close to a reasonable answer most of the time. This is assuming quickload can accurately model this particular powders behavior. Very small errors can produce wildly different results. A good sanity check is to shoot three loads spaced apart and see how close quickload matches all of them. If it can only hit one or two of the points something is off.

I'll also add that, assuming all of that data is correct, try using something like a half grain less powder to hit ~2875fps. Your groups will probably tighten up considerably.
