183 Sierra 7mm

Not much being said about these, got 500 and have been testing in a 284 1-8 twist. So far they appear to be as good as the hybrids out at 600, did end up using .5gr more 7828 to get to the tune. POI was 2"- 2.5" higher than the Hybrids at the same speed 2860. Anyone have any finding's?
Thanks Bob

Bob,

I should have my new rifle up and running next week hopefully, and I'll be able to report. Measuring the bullets, like you, I found only .005 difference in seating depths. Mine measure 1/2 to 1 thous small in diameter as compare to my Bergers.

Thanks for reporting. I took a break for hunting season about the time these bullets launched. I thought there would be more field reports by now.

Have you gentlemen found initial accuracy to be similar to 180 Hybrids? In my testing of different SMK and Berger bullets I've found the Bergers to be slightly more consistent in weight.

ES in weight of .3grs in Bergers lot of 500
ES in weight of .5-6grs in SMK lot of apprx. 400

But I have not determined a difference in accuracy from this finding.

How is load development for the 183gr Bergers?
