Made it out this evening to a nice little 300 yard field just up the road. I took the .17 Fireball that pushes the 25 grain V-Max to 4023 fps at the muzzle. The grass was very long and is due for the first cut. First one, an old Boar, appeared at a large tree right in the middle of the field and 101 yards from my seat. I was using a 5 gallon pail with a swivel seat on the lid and my Bog Pod adjusted to the correct height. It played pic-a-boo for what seemed an eternity however finally got to a position for me to take a shot. Snert likes the head shots so this one's for him!

Next one, another Boar, was feeding for at least 1/2 hour out around the 200 yard mark and when I would just get the crosshairs settled it would go down in the grass again. I waited it out and it finally made the fatal mistake of staying up to long. Sorry Snert with my setup steadying on the head was just to tough so I center chested it!

I had another at 285 but it just wouldn't stay up long enough! Oh and there was one walking in at 10 yards that almost gave me time to get the gun up. It was a good evening with low winds and warm temps and when the grass gets cut I'll get those and the owners of the many cleared burrows I saw when finding the kills!
