If he means the .17 Winchester Super Mag he did get in the right sub-forum here. Rimfire and smallbore would correctly describe that cartridge. As far as knowing if it has been discontinued, I have no idea.

Interesting question. Rifles still available at Sportsmans. Ammoseek lists no ammo source, and I have not found a reputable source that has any in stock or will backorder except on "indefinite" ETA. It is still listed on the Winchester site, so I sent an inquiry to customer service. Stay tuned!

17 WSM ammo is not that hard to find. It has gotten pricey though.

The A17 WSM, I have seen zero for sale. Local GS, I have had one ordered for close to a year.

one thing that surprised me last week is i went into sodak sports in aberdeen sd and they had 10 boxes of 17 hornet and runnings had 4 boxes.. bought them all.. sodak always has good stuff.. 25 bucks a box
