The "guy" doesn't have one. It was delivered to a Savage rep. not him or any retail customer. The OP on RFC was very misleading.

I picked one up yesterday at Cabela's in Hamburg, PA. I was also fortunate enough to get the last box of ammo. Hopefully the supply chain is full soon.

As much as the ammo is going for on Gunbroker, and seeing as it also appears to be as rare as hens teeth in the stores around me, I think I'll pass until the supply chain catches up.

Not sure what the ammo is going for on Gunbroker, but the local BPS has had a couple of recent ammo shipments with only 3 boxes of 17WSM on each shipment at $15.99 for 50 rounds of the 20 gr. Don

I just received from CABELA'S on 6-29-13 my order of 17 WSM ammo. LOOKS FAST! Wish COOPER ARMS would start making a rifle in this caliber and I would have a sweet combo, but will probably wait for WINCHESTER to release the model 1885 for it instead. Anybody know when the WINCHESTER rifle will be on dealers shelves. The SAVAGE rifle appears a little to cheap for me to invest in !!

Yes, the whistle pigs in SE PA are complaining about how cheap the new Savage 17 B.Mag is. They are praying that Savage raises the price.

That rifle is built for the masses. Liken it to an Axis or a Model 25 Walking Varminter in a rim fire. Actually after having mine all apart the only thing I don't care for is the flex in the front of the stock, forearm area. It is however structurally sound. It is hard to get the stock to flex when it is off the rifle and it doesn't seem to hit the barrel.
