17 TAC bust some Groundhogs

I love the 25gr Bergers in my 17Rem, but have you tried anything heavier with that 9 twist?

I have a 9tw 17Rem and the HPBT 30gr bullets that Todd Kindler used to sell were nothing short of remarkable on 'chucks and coyotes. I could get them to just at 3900fps and maintain very good hunting accuracy with a sporter weight barrel. Chucks at just a little over 400yds would usually not even twitch. Todd sold his dies etc to a young fella in Texas. I bought some off of him a year or so ago. Here's a link that may have more information on them: forum.accurateshooter.com/threads/the-new-172-30-grain-bullets-from-kindlers-dies.3940389

Over on Saubier(?) I'm sure there's lots more info on them. Good luck with what ever you try. WD

I will be shooting Todd Kindlers Woodchuck den bullets in 29 gr soon and Chan Nagels 30 gr in this 17 TAC and see what happens. I will post results as soon as i do load development

Thanks

I run the 25 gr. V-Max from a 26" PacNor 9tw chambered in .17 Rem Fireball at 3950 fps. To 300 yards it's a chuck killin' machine. No movement after hits. I don't have much success past that and I am guessing the wind is causing it.
