17 Squirrel Groundhog Sniping!

Nice! And good shooting.

I need to get out after rock chucks. See 'em everywhere now, and as soon as this bleedin' heat subsides, it'll be time to grab my Cooper 20VT and get with the program. Can't let you eastern guys get all the action! ;)

Rick post us some pictures when you start sniping Rock chucks! That 20 Vartarg is really all one needs for Groundhogs and Rock Chucks
You got it there, Hillbillysniper. Until I get out and do it properly, here's my pet 20VT chuck-getter with some pic re-runs having her way with our rock chucks here:

It's such a great feeling to wake up on a nice sunny late spring or early summer morning, down a cup of coffee and grab my Vartarg and take it for a walk out in the junipers, cruising the rock piles for chucks sunning themselves.

If I anticipate having to crawl around the lava rock outcroppings, I may grab my Cooper Phoenix 221FB so I don't ding up the Cooper 20VT wood. I should probably just get a VT with synthetic stock too, but the little Furball seems to do a decent job too, and it also shoots under 1/4", so when the chucks are just peeking over the rock and only offering an eyeball, either the VT or Furball are both accurate enough for "eyeball shootin'". ;)

And here's the object of all the fuss, Chucky himself in "untouched mode".

Of course it took a Nikon 300mm lens to capture that guy up close. As soon as I get the chance after some commitments, it's out to the outback again for some "fun with rodents". :)
