.17 rem fireball feed back?

wanted to get some input-- saw one the other day and fell in love with it-- want one for yotes and cats... any comments? im leanig toward a cdl stainless factory 700.

Theres alot of hipe over this 1.I dont think it has the chance like the 17hmr but I do like this 1 a lot more.It has less fouling potential than the 17rem due to less powder burned.I do think this will excel in the fur trade tho.The little bullet going very fast enters the animal with minimal damage or nothing more than a tiny hole and no exit. But wind drift is a BIG factor here with the light pills. If you dont want the hides go for a 22 cf of some sort.proven to work and less wind drift.

I have only shot 160 rounds out of my Rem Mdl 700 CDL SF Limited Ed. 17 Fireball rifle. I got five boxes of Rem 20 Gr ammo, 100 rounds). I adjusted the trigger pull down to 2 3/4 pounds and free floated the barrel. I m getting .6 inch five shot 100 yard groups with the 20 grain factory round . The best groups with reloads were a bit better in the .5 inch range. The reload was using the Hornady 25 Gr bullet, 19.0 Gr,MAX)of Benchmark powder, Federal 205 M primers in the Remington cases. The MV of the 25 Gr bullet reloads is 3880 ft/sec. The bullet has about 340 ft/lb of energy at 300 yards. I have only shot prairie dogs with the 20 grain bullet but should I see a Yote at up to 300 yards Id take the shot. Reloading info is at http://data.hodgdon.com I like the low muzzle blast of the Fireball and the recoil is such that I can see a prairie dog being hit when the scope is set at 18 X.

Have the CDL, Floated barrel, glass bedded, bad trigger, got Jewell, Shot 600 rds at sage rats last year in 4 days, all factory ammo, very expensive $1.00 a rd. 1.25" groups. Reloads with H335 and 20 GR VX about .5, Lots of fun to shoot. you will enjoy, don't know about coyotes.
