Really makes me wanna dig out my 17 rem. I had a bad experience w this cartridge years ago. This cartridge brought new meaning to the saying “ attention is the cheapest thing i can pay” i learned a 1/10th of a grain can mean a lot w this cartridge. I mean it. One day me and my cuz were side buy side shooting and i touched a round off that was a different BOOM! Im talking shit flying out of my rifle in my face! Like wo dude what was that?. Light and flag went off in my head. I opened a hard bolt, primer fell out and that case was blown to hell on the ass end.(700 bdl) That was it for me that day. Put the rifle away for a long time, pulled that box of shells. I dont know what i did but my load was too hot. I respected rifles a lot more after that. Lesson learned from living on the edge. Summer heat will catch up w you. When your stupid you gotta pay. Be careful. Im telling you a little means a lot in the little guys. My 2 cents.CFE223 has given me the best results in this rifle.
Sorry but its just a reminder to all. You gotta be safe. I had no glasses or nothing on. Everyone always seems to have to run the edge. Velocity isn’t everything sometimes. And i think theres a lot of times were stuff throttled down a little does as good or better when it comes to fur saving. Just some thoughts respectivelyReally makes me wanna dig out my 17 rem.
