I spend more money on gasoline than reloading shells. I drive a lot of backroads.
Me too but cost per round is what I was referring to.

This always makes me laugh, we drop $$$$ on a rig. Then try to justify it by being economical to shoot.
I do it myself.
One of the best crow/chuck bullets ever for that are the old Remington 25gr powerlockt . Got about 500 of those if anybody needs them.

I killed a few at 300 or a little further with the 25 grain. They continued to stand for about 5 seconds after being hit in the chest and then the legs failed and took the down elevator. I didn't get any opps to try it at 400 or so and have many more capable long range choices. It is a really loud mutha for its size.I saw several articles on this in precision shooting .it saems it will work on chucks up to say 350 to 400 yards in nice weather.my question is are any of you 17 shooters finding this to be a great caliber for say 300 yard or under.and if you shoot to the 350 or 400 yard mark what are you finding out how it preforms.
just asking .

Hey Gary, 300 for groundhogs works fine. Definitely no exists and major hidden damage, I suspect you could add almost 100 on that for p-dogs.I saw several articles on this in precision shooting .it saems it will work on chucks up to say 350 to 400 yards in nice weather.my question is are any of you 17 shooters finding this to be a great caliber for say 300 yard or under.and if you shoot to the 350 or 400 yard mark what are you finding out how it preforms.
