Far too slow for 20g. Factory speeds with Lil Gun and CFE-BLK. I guess some slow loads could be made with 322. Just load a caseful and see. Far too slow to be overpressure.Hello guys
I was wondering if anyone had any 17 hornet loads for 20 Grain bullets using H335 or BLC2?
The only ones ive seen using h335 has been for 25g and I havent seen any using BLC2
Thanks DL
That is a bit slow on both loads. A friend is getting good groups with H4198 12.7 grains, but he has a HUGE amount of fussing getting the load to fit in the case, tapping the funnel, tapping the case, compressed load. I'm not going to do that. My 20 V-max likes CFE BLK the best, and 1680 does okay. However, with the Nos 20 HP both powders might have .4" group, and then 1.3" groups the next time I test the same load.Seems a lot of guys using the CFEBLK.
My best accuracy is 9.3 grns. IMR 4227 w/ 20 v-Max (moly coated) , Hornady cases and CCI-400 primers. Still want to work up to get there - but that is a slow load. I use it only because that is where I started my ladder and it happened to be the most accurate as I lost the node and got to the top before it came back. Running 3,175 F.P.S.
Best with Berger 25 (moly coated) is 10.8 H4198, same brass, primer - I'm running get 3,136 f.p.s. WORK UP
These both produce sub-.400" 5-shot groups out of my Lilja tube.
