17-5.56 Seating

So, I found it impossible for me to keep the little flat base bullet balanced on the case for seating. So I got creative. I took a spent .17HMR case and cut it with a small tubing cutter, took my time so it didn't crimp the cut end too much. I place that on my case, then slide the new bullet in, and it holds it quite well. I just tap it to get the bullet seated, maybe 1/16" in, then bring the press down and pull the .17HMR sleeve off, then finish the seating. Works great. Finngineered.1.jpg2.jpg3.jpg

I have a 17/223 and my fat fingers have no problem with myRCBS die. Tommy mc

RCBS gold medal dies are the ticket in my book. I have 17/20/22, 6mm.
They can be adjusted to work on long short and in between. Just need to swap shell holders, fyi they are the extended ones.
Makes life easy.
