17/20 decapper options

What decapper do you fellas use for the small 17/20 calibers?
I been using a rcbs universal decapper. I filed down the head to fit the 20 caliber cases but have broken two rods when I am doing 22-250 and other bigger cases the 20.
I might just need to find a dedicated 20 and keep the rcbs for 22-243
Edit just realized maybe this should have been in the reloading section

Do what you have already done, but use the modified sub caliber decapper on the sub calibers only. Buy a second, standard decapper and use it only for everything else.

Hornady, Whidden and some others make rods for their dies to use with 17/20 calibers. I have both in my dies that are used in the 17 and 20 caliber cartridges I shoot.

I use the Redding small decapping die for the 17/20. RCBS for the .22 and over. I have a small RCBS press on the left side of the press dedicated to decapping. The Redding is black, RCBS silver no mistaking which is in place. Never have had a pin issue, even with range brass.

This! I use the standard Mighty Armor decapper all the time, recently I had a 20-222 built and didn’t realize the standard decapper didn't work, stem was too big in diameter. Logged on to Mighty Armor and saw this die and it works great. It’s a great design.

For the 20 cal shooters, I stumbled upon a happy coincidence.

The Lee Universal Decapping Die, at least the one that I've got, has a decapping pin that mics out at .2025". That is about as good as it gets to leave a final neck diameter for a .204 bullet.

I simply run my cases through the sizing step with no depriming shaft, and then run them through the Lee decapper/mandrill.

When I do this, if any cases feel like they don't have enough neck tension, I set them aside and hit those necks with a smaller neck bushing. jd

Works for me too and lee universal die is relatively cheap but works well. Stronger aftermarket decamping pins are also available for this die

Well stopped by Bruno’s today on my way home to see what they had. Ended up just getting the decapping die set large small with 17/20 stem.
If rcbs replaces the one I broke I’ll do just like you.
I looked at mighty armory and they are superb looking but very pricey once you factor in shipping.
I might get one down the line but this should suit me just fine for now
