162gr. a-max w/ new "amp"jacket vs. old lots?

Has anybody noticed a difference between the old lots of 162 a-max's and the new stuff with "amp" jackets. Just ran out of the old lots which shot great and first batch of a new lot has a slightly different ogive to it and some inconsistencies with it. Had to move the seater down another 4 thou. to get the same oal and about every 3rd or 4th round seated comes out about 3-4thou. too long. Old lots were always within .001, very consistent ogive. Out to the range tomorrow to check out this new lot, if it shoots fine all a moot point I guess! Eric

The new ones worked good for me at our local match last Saturday, 3rd string went 100/100 with 6x from my 7remMag at 600 yds. Have also had 2 different 5rnd .4 groups at 100 with same load. I also had to run my seater down a bit the ogive is a little different.

Nothing wrong with a 100x6x!! Very Nice. I too have noticed no difference with the new lots after adjusting the seater a bit down. EJ

Not 162s, but my 6mm 105s shot markedly different with the old vs. new. I was getting .4" groups with the old, and that doubled with the new AMP jacketed version. I've gone back to shooting Bergers.

Im very pleased with my results....both 7mm HPBT's and 6mm A-max (culdnt get the new 6mm HPBT"s yet!!??)....the jacket mtl. seems "harder". With the older bullets when seating them the seater stem wuld leave a ring around the nose of the bullit....these new ones are not marked any!!!....and both the 7mm HPBT's and 6mm 105 A-max shot excellent .....the 6mm's are grouping better than the green box and yellow box bullets that I have shot records with!!! Its funny how one shooter can get bad results and another good...im usually among the bad ones.hahahha....its like anyother thing in life...you just gota fiddle with it......Roger
PS,,,,im jammin em both aprox .007-.010"....as usual

I sent back 4 boxes of the 7 MM HPBT's because the weights were WAY off specs, seems that they are returning 8 boxes on Monday. You can bet I'll run them on the scale again..
