155 Lapua in a short throat

Hello all, I have read the forum for quite a while and even thought I was a member but my Login doesnt appear to work anymore so I re-registered .

My problem is this, I have a fairly short throated .308 that I would like to try the 155 Lapua Scenar in . I am using Winchester brass, Varget and a CCI BR-2 primer . I am just wondering what a good starting and stopping point for initial load development ? Obviously the 47.8 grain load I see sported around the internet isnt gonna work as there is no room for the bullet .

Any help you can provide would be great . Thanks and I look forward to hanging around here a bunch more as it looks to have developed into a great site .

I shoot the same components, but with a longer throated chamber. Through 4 barrels now, 46 grains has been GREAT, at 3000-3040 fps. It is compressed some, but don't care. I load them to just touch the lands. Hope this helps some.

I guess maybe it would help if I posted my maximum OAL is 2.815 which puts me .005 off the lands . I am gonna start at 44.5 grains and work my way up . I doubt I will see the velocity you are seeing as the barrel is a mere 22 inches long .
