150g 7mm BR load

Has anyone tried a 150 grain bullet in a 7mm BR?

I question this because it seems 140 grain is generally the largest round as a factory load for a handgun.

I have some 150g Nosler Ballistic Tips and was wondering if they could be used in my XP-100.

If so could you share your findings on powder load and type?

I'm learning as I go, Bob.

or another go to load with that bullet would be 26gr H322, or 27gr IMR4895, or 28gr H335. All have shot very well for me and I have owned more 7br's than I can count! As always, start lower then work up although none of these have proven anywhere near max in my guns.

Shot a lot of 140/150 gr. Nosler Ballistic Tip, Solid Base and a few Partitions through the XP-100 back in the day. Unfortunately, no records survive from that era. I do have evidence one recent load, not 150gr. but close. Ignore the shoe, had to unearth the 7BR can in order to get the evidence.

I’ll add another vote for H322 and IMR4895. I used to have a lot of AA2520 and it shot pretty well too.
