1420 yds with a .223

We shoot steel each Wednesday at the MO Rivers Shooters Complex north of Great Falls. Five hundred yds to 1260 yds. Steel plates at known distances as well as skeet placed on the dirt berms.

Yesterday we had an orange skeet on a hill at 1420 yds. My .223 AI with 75 gr A Max's at 2950 fps was NOT the tool for the job.

The variable winds didn't help either. Had 25 cases left to fire form so not a total loss.

Any Montana LR shooters who want to shoot one Wednesday come on out.

Even farther from south central PA, but if I can arrange another trip out that way (been too many years since I made it out that there), you'll be hearing from me well in advance.

I have good SE TX bud that ran his to 1560yds on a 1.5 moa plate. Could usually get a first round hit with consecutive following shots. 75 Amax with CFE powder.
