140 - 142 in a 6.5BR

I had a good load in mine using Varget and 140 vlds. Excellant grouping with velocity sitting at 2640 fps.

Thank you mdonnr. Just what I was looking for. Berger 140 VLD's I assume?

I do not presently have a rifle chambered in 6.5BR and have not spec'd a reamer. Just doing some investigating. If I were to change from the 6BR I am using now to a 6.5 it would be to be able to shoot heavier bullets. The heaviest bullet I can find now in 6mm is a 125. I wanted to know if anyone was a bullet that heavy in a 6.5BR and getting satisfactory results.

It was the VLD. My rifle was setup to shoot the 108-123 gr bullets so VLDs were the only heavy bullet that worked well with the throat I had. The eld and smk required the chamber to be throated. I didn’t want mess with something that was working. The rifle was just a steel plinking gun. I was half tempted to have a 600yd Fclass rifle built around the 140-147gr bullets.
