I used the 125gr NOS BT for years for mulie and whitetail deer. Always performed....cjmac said:So im thinking about trying 125 gr in a 1 in 12 twist . Low recoil , easy to find . Good idea or not ? Sierra makes one

Yes they will. Like I said in my other post use a 125 Nosler ballistic tip and keep impact velocity under 3000 fps and it is a real deer killer. I have shot we will say 50+ deer out to a little over 300 yards with this bullet and 95% have been bang flop and those that did not drop in their tracks did not go over three jumps. NO BULLET THAT IS NOT PUT WHERE IT IS SUPPOSED TO GO KILLS WELL.
Were these SMK's in 125 grain or which bullet? I'm thinking of doing that with their 2121 SMK's in 125 grain. Here you go:
49-52g of Win 748, 125g Sierra single ragged hole, fed 210. If a 308 does not shoot this load, trade it off!!!
Same load with Barnes and nosler!!!
