120 gr Nosler Ballistic Tip

Thinking of a new rifle build for a varmint/hog rifle in 6.5X47 Lapua and looking into hunting bullets. Has anyone tried the 120 gr Nosler Ballistic tip? Any other suggestions for a hog/coyote bullet?
Thanks, shcal

Have shot 30 something deer with the 120gr NBT in a 6,5x55 driven at moderate velocities. Very happy with bullet performance.
Now using 140gr AMAX to shoot same bullet all the time, makes the same holes.

I use the 120 Gr Ballistic tips in my 260 Rem at moderate velocities,2900 fps) and they work great on white tails. Very accurate.

I too am building a 6.5 x 47 as a hunting rifle. Has anyone driven these any faster say closer to 3000-3100 FPS. I am curious if they will perform the same way.

Iv never shot a hog with anything under a 150gr.Id say go heavier with a smaller case sence they are bullet traps.tough side gristle plates over vitals.140 hornady SST would work well or a remington core-lokt.120 for varmints will work wonders though.

That bullet even work great at velocitys just over 2500fps out of a 14 inch 6.5 JDJ Contender..
The Hornady Amax is also a great one.......

I pushed my 260 to 3050 fps with the 120 Bt's out of my 260. They killed deer great. Big holes on the far side. Never had one come apart, but they were all broadside shots at 100 to 250 yards. I backed down to 2900 for a little better accuracy and less muzzle blast. Deer are just as dead and my ears don't ring as long.
