I got my new barrel installed last night and began break in procedure. My mindset is to use a 187 grain FB bullet once I'm done breaking it in. My question for those who have shot a 12 twist in this chambering what's the heaviest bullet I can get away with using that'll work at 1k? I have a few FB 187's and contact for more. But I would also like to test something else to squeeze every little bit of accuracy out as I can.

I had a 1 in 12 twist built for 1000 yard bench rest with the thinking that I was going to shoot the 187 bib bullet. That did not work out and on a whim I decided to try the 200 grain Berger hybrids. I shot quite a few 4 and 5 inch groups in 1K competition, both 5 and 10 shot groups. H4350 and federal 210's. I know the Berger calculator says that it can't work but it sure works for me!!
