What powder(s) do you plan on running?243AI 1 - 7.5 Twist.
Yea I'd like to try them in my 243AI for sure. You liked what you saw huh Bill
I hope your barrel and the DTACs like each other. You have the boiler room for some impressive performance.
I got very good results with H4831 and Berger 115s but I tested even slower powders, and I was glad I did. RL-23, RL-26 and VV-165 all produced quite a bit more speed and equal-to-better precision than H4831. RL-26 was the velocity champ (I though my chronograph was broken . . .) and the groups were terrific, although string shooting is not its thing. VV-165 did really well, too, and it shares the cooler burning characteristics of VV-160.
Enjoy the ride!
Managed to grab a couple of pds. of VV-N165 @ Midway today. Was on sale for $42.00/pd. Figured since both of you guys were having good luck with it I might as well get it while I could at that price. Thanks for the info.VV N165 is what your looking for
Went over to SVT_Tactical's house today and grabbed 100 of the 115 DTACs. Got some VV-N165 on the way too. Will get the 243AI on the bench and empty some brass out (everything is loaded LOL) asap so I can see what these bad boys is holding in the accuracy and speed department. Anybody recommend which primer to use ?You could have taken some. Grab what you need when you come over next
N165 is pretty easy to light. I use Federal 210Ms in mine with no complaints.Went over to SVT_Tactical's house today and grabbed 100 of the 115 DTACs. Got some VV-N165 on the way too.
