I am wanting to purchase a savage 110ba in 300 win mag IF and only if they are large shank, so I called Savage and they couldn't tell me if they were without a serial number. I explained I didn't have a serial number as I was going to ORDER one to buy. The guy transferred me to another guy which told me it SHOULD be a large shank. I don't want to order one on the word SHOULD. Sooooo does anyone know for SURE that the 300 win mag is a large shank in the 110 BA? thanks for any help

Call 1-763-682-4296 It is Jim at northland shooters supply. If he doesn't answer leave a message and he will get back to you.He is one of the guru's that know savages inside out.

I talked to Jim before Savage, he said he doesn't know about that one. I am hoping someone has one than can verify this for me. I am wanting to swap it to a 300 rum and only want that on a large shank. Thanks

The easy way is to remove the barrel nut(screw it backwards and measure the size of the barrel shank.

I wish I had one to do that with, but I am ordering one to buy. FINALLY got ahold of the Savage custom shop and they told me it is for sure large shank. thanks

If it has a factory barrel and barrel nut you can measure right in front of the barrel nut. The tenon and cylinder are the same so the barrel nut has no shoulder in front of it. Small tenon 1.0625" Large tenon 1.125"
