10M gun owners not registered to vote?

Even if the actual number was half... weird statistic and I don't understand why.

(don't make it political, I just find it odd that so many people with a vested interest in a right granted in this country that isn't anywhere else on the planet completely choose to not paricipate in maintaining it)

Basicly gun owners come in three colors. The fud hunter who only thinks about his fire arm a week before season or the trap shooter type who has a few beers shoots a round with his buddies and dosn't give a rip about any other shooting sport or the smallest group of shooters who are hard core and care. I have ben in compeditive shooting for over 40 years and have heard over and over again you guys are always over reacting that won't ever happen the American people will never stand for it! And then they drink another beer!

I don't always like human nature, but I believe that it is real, and very predictable.

I have read that back in the early years of the founding of our nation that the population was pretty much split into thirds concerning the course of our future. One third wanted to break with England and create a free nation. One third wanted to stay loyal to King George as English subjects. And one third was "Oh, whatever".

I think that 30ish% voter turn-out is pretty common among the various states, and I'm not only astounded by that, but also about how clueless many of the voters are. jd

How would anyone even know how many gun owners aren't registered voters?

It's sad the very people that need the 2nd ammendment to be as strong as it can be are the ones that really need to get out and vote. Don't quite understand this either.

I looked for references or discussion of where the numbers came from with no immediate answers, but I suspect they’re using 4473 forms to estimate these numbers (what else could they use?). It would be a rather misleading and inaccurate assertion to claim every 4473 was a gun purchase, much less that each form is a unique voter.

Is the info on a 4473 kept after the background check?

I believe half the gun owners are of the "whatever" and the "let somebody else do it" group. Too lazy to support the club and vote.

The voting record are public. After the election go investigate and see how many of your club members voted. You will have to be persistent. County election committees don't like the public looking over their shoulder.
