107 Sierra's Jumped?

Though I've been reloading for 25 years, I'm still learning about precision reloading. Yesterday I shot four 5 shot groups with my standard 6BR with some "goof" loads. Goofed in that instead of my standard square mark on the bullet seating depth, these loads were .020" off the lands. The load was 30.0 Varget, CCI 450, 107 Sierra, in neck sized Lapua brass. Best groups I've ever shot.

So here's the question. I was quite happy with my jammed loads, but these "jumped" groups look better. Is this just a fluke, or are others having good luck jumping Sierra's?

Some like em, some don't. Each barrel is an individual. I mostly shoot 105 Bergers, and jam them .015-.020.

I have found the same thing you have re; jump.
Most BT not VLDs seem to like some jump. Sierra MKs-Lapua BT-Honady-Berger etc. all of them BTs, in the 6mm 105 thru 108 gr.

My 243 I found that .010 off the lands worked the best that is in this rifle! my other 243 liked about .025 jump. I just took my handpress to the range once I figured up a load and started trying different seating depths. Later,

0.020" off the lands is a great place to seat especially if you use the rifle in competition.

There is nothing like having to remove a loaded round to find the bullet is no longer in the case and all the powder is no longer in the case, i.e. end of the day for that rifle.

I shoot all of my competition matches with square marks or more.

Also, I would do more testing on different days under different conditions before claiming an accuracy advantage to seating off the lands.
