105 AMax

Hello all
Just wanted to see if anyone was aware of any differences (other then the amp jackets) between the older style 105 AMax and the current style?
Due to Bergers being unavailable here for the foreseeable future I tried a box of AMax that I had laying around, these shot great out of my Dasher, fast forward to today loaded some current style amaxs and had a major adjustment in the Wilson seater - here's hoping they shot as well ? I'll add that I measure this box and they were very consistent in base to ogive length, mostly with 2 thou in length , unlike most of my 107 SMK's which usually ended up in three different length groups

I can't help with your question but I just picked some up to try in a tactical type rifle. Based on your experience do they like to be jumped or jammed?

Good Shooting

For what i've seen here, most others are jumping them, but mine where jammed like when i fire formed, with a square mark from the lands on the Amax
Shot lights out, too frightened to change anything !

I have some of the new ELD-M's in 6.5, but haven't loaded them yet. I have done some work with them in my .300 WM and they ARE NOT the same bullet. So far I have not been able to get them under 3/4 at 100. Started there to get an idea of what was what. I started them 20/1000 in the lands and am now out to 20 out with little change. The old 208 Amax is golden at 10 off, at least in my 300. That said, I may start with the 6.5's to see if I have better luck.
