1000 yard reticle

I've been trying to decide on a new scope for long distance shooting, I currently have a Nightforce competion 55 I like it most of the time but have found the .016 crosshairs of the FCR-1 reticle very hard to see at times especially during low light. I know everyone's eye sight is different but what size crosshair thickness would be "too big" for a 1000 yard target

I'm really interested in a scope with lighted reticle in the same mag range as my Nightforce. A March high power would be nice but I only find the MTR-FT reticle available without special ordering and waiting 3-4 months. I also wonder if the .1 crosshair size would be too big instead of too fine.

Anyway what reticles do you 1000 yard shooters prefer and why? I'm new to the forum so Thanks in advance for any reply's.

N/F, DDR...Vortex ECR-1.. March MTR-2, all similar they have a ''T'' type reticle, they all get you back on target quick.

In what type of 1000yd target are you interested?

F-class with 1/2 min x ring?
Benchrest with even smaller rings?
Steel targets which can be 1min or 2 min in size?
...?

I have not seen any illuminated scope that makes any difference for target shooting.

I like the double for first choice. My second choice is the NPR in Nightforce. I like the TMR in Leupold. Matt

Great questions, I honestly don't have answers for them as of now I'm shooting steel at 500 yards at a friends range nothing longer as it's hard to find locally. I hope to be shooting bench rest eventually.
