I'm with you. But I've personally seen (not from my shooting) but from others some simply amazing precision at 1k that will boggle your mind.People ACTUALLY shoot 1-2” groups at 1,000 yards? Hell, I’m fortunate if I can put ONE round out of a box into a 1,000 yard target half the size of a barn door! I find it to be incredibly challenging and difficult.
Not to make excuses, mind, but in my particular case I have to wonder if shooting factory ammo , which I do, isn’t a hindrance. I cannot fathom that anyone could shoot a 1-2” group at 1,000 yards without hand loads tuned to the rifle.I'm with you. It's incredible the relatively recent advances in barrels, bullets, tuning, and gun building and the results they are producing.
