1000 Yard 1 inch Club

In celebration of a great accomplishment and the commitment required to achieve the highest level of precision in long range benchrest shooting.

Please post pics of targets shot in competition with 1.000- 1.999 inch groups and tell us a little about your equipment and loads.

People ACTUALLY shoot 1-2” groups at 1,000 yards? Hell, I’m fortunate if I can put ONE round out of a box into a 1,000 yard target half the size of a barn door! I find it to be incredibly challenging and difficult.
I'm with you. But I've personally seen (not from my shooting) but from others some simply amazing precision at 1k that will boggle your mind.

This is likely to be one of the most viewed threads on here once some brave shooters start posting targets.

It's incredible the relatively recent advances in barrels, bullets, tuning, and gun building and the results they are producing.

Not to make excuses, mind, but in my particular case I have to wonder if shooting factory ammo , which I do, isn’t a hindrance. I cannot fathom that anyone could shoot a 1-2” group at 1,000 yards without hand loads tuned to the rifle.

1.568 inch group with a score of 50 (5X)! This is my smallest 5 shot 1000 yard target shot in an IBS registered match at Hawks Ridge Gun Club, Ferguson, NC. Somewhere between year 2017 and 2019. At the time it was the 3rd smallest group ever shot and second in score as far as world records. Shot with a Light Gun, 300 WSM. This was such a fluke! My main rifle that day was not shooting well, so I took its ammo and shot it in my back-up rifle. I knew they headspaced the same. The barrel was not even broken in and I had never shot it at 1000 yards before. I had just installed a RAD recoil reducer and I just wanted to see how it recoiled. I thought the match director was kidding when he told me what I shot. Samuel Hall

The only way i am getting a 1 inch group at 1000 is if it's a 1 shoot group. Maybe not then if my 300 SMK key holes it's so long I may be over an inch.
