100 m load for 6mmBR

I am looking for a good load for 100 meter competition.
For 300m competition i use factory Norma Diamond line.
Now i understood that flat base points are more stable at short range. I hear some good news about the Berger 88 flat base, now i tried to get them her for at least a year now but are unable to get them. Now i am searching for an alternative, i saw the 77 grainer from Lapua but cant find any reports of their accuracy. Does anyone her use them? Or do i have other alternatives, be aware i am in the Netherlands so some of the customs like JLK/Fowler/BIB are not available to me. If someone has other pet loads for short range i am very interested in them as well?

Don't be afraid to try more Bergers. The 88 is a VERY different design than the Berger 80. The 88 is a "lo-drag" design with a short bearing surface and long nose. The 80 is a much more "conventional" design.

In my 6BR the 88s shot OK, but nothing spectacular. The 80s shot awesome -- they went into the ones and low twos -- tight little knots.

Ok thanks all, i just called and ordered several bullets, the berger 68 and 80 grain, and the Lapua 77 grain. So i will have to see whats available and groups.

We really like the Berger 105 BT,catalog number 243105T) with 30 grains of Varget and a Wolf Small Rifle Mag primer.

We are getting 5-shot groups in the .2's with this bullet in a 1:8 twist Krieger barrel at 100 yards.

NBRSA director, Gene Harwood set a 100 yd world record with a standard 6 BR shooting his own 60g HP at 3700 fps with a max load of H335.

At his insistance, I tried my own 60's with H335 and was immediately shooting groups in the low 2's. Other friends had 6 BR's built and shot 60g Sierra's and Bergers with H335 with amazing accuracy and speed.

HOpe this helps!

Keith, care to share where you get reloading data for the 6br and H335? My source books are bullet maker load books. None state H335 as a powder.
Throw me a max number using 60g bullets and I can go from there if need be.
thanks
Casey

I have had good success with WS2 coated Berger 108 grain BT. Last Summer I shot five five-shot groups at 100 yards that had an aggregate of .189". My barrel is a 1 in 8 twist, 22" long.

as per Hodgdons 2008 paper back reloading guide.
Pg. 89
6MM BR Remington

H335/ 107 gr SMK,sierra)
Starting gr. = 26/2482 fps/43,200 cup
Max gr. = 28/2649/50,400 cup

Check it first.

KCTbear, I got my loading data from Gene Harwood, former director of the NBRSA.

I worked up a load for a friends 6 BR last week using H335 with my 60g HP. The accuracy load for his rifle was the same as mine using the same lot# of powder 33.5g with a 7 1/2 Remington primer. Start off at 32.0g and work up, accuracy is usually at the point to where you start to see the primers get flat on the edges.

This load is fast and unreal accurate.

H335 also works great for 65g bullets also with speeds in the 3650 area shooting very tiny groups.

What has been my experience with H335 is that the hotter the powder charge, the more accurate the load shoots. Like wise, as the temp goes up, the more accurate the load gets.

H335 really proved to be a great p. dog powder. You can not believe how clean this stuff burns as you shoot toward a max load.
