10" twist .224 barrel

I have often wondered what the advantage is to a 10 twist 224 barrel.

I'm not the 1:7 or bust type. I have 2 1:8s a 9 and 3 1:12.... But what range
Of bullets is 10" really intended for?

I'm sure there's a 60 some odd match bullet for 200-300 BR right?

Just curious.... Thinkin about a BR for predator hunting

They work great with 53 V-Max in a varmint rifle.

I have a friend in Medford who wins 90% of the 600 yard shoots with 69 grain Sierra match and a 1-10 twist savage.

I prefer the 69 Nosler's when shooting side by side.

Thats kinda what I've been thinking. I do believe I may rebarrel a 223 with a 10 twist. Mine is a Krieger/CZ 1:9 and it will flat out stack 75-77 but those little hornady 68s I love to sling at coyotes look like buckshot

Next time I'll try a 10.

The 60 grain Sierra HP is a very accurate in my 10tw tubes. Great terminal ballistics at .223/.222 velocities.

If I were to have a rifle rebarreled specifically for use with bullets in the 60- to 64-grain weight range I would hedge my bet by specifying a 1:10 twist.

I'd like to build a 1:10 twist AR as well, should be fine for the cheaper varmint bullets as well as being a fast loader for a 3-gun match.
