10.5 twist rate on 264 WM

I recently purchased a re-barreled Mod70. It has a #5 Douglas barrel with twist rate of 10.5. I cannot find any info on what weight bullet I should use. I am thinking a 100 grain would be OK. Any suggestions?

I have a 6.5 with a ten twist and have the same question. I found a calculator on this web site,kwk.us/twist.html). According to that site if I can push a 140g SMK at 2950 or faster the bullet will be stable. I haven't tried any real world yet but maybe you should input your data and see what the calculator says. You will need to know your bullet length which if you cant measure one, do a search on this forum for bullet data base there is a link to an amazing data base with thousands of options you can expiriment with.

Thanks for the input. I guess the faster the twist, the heavier the bullet. Since the 1-9 was for 130 and below, I tried a 100 grain bullet with this 10.5 barrel.I lucked out with the 100 grain Nosler B-Tips. 59.5 grains of IMR4350 put three inside a dime.
