Was trying to purchase a new handgun this year.
Problems started mounting up. First is I needed
a new Handgun Safety Certificate so I got one and
went to the Gun Store. The gentleman there stated
that he could not acquire the gun that I wanted. So
I looked around and found one that I was interested
in and then was told that my CDL was not classified
as a "Real ID" and that mine had federal restrictions
that would not allow me to purchase a firearm. So off
to the DMV and traded in my CDL for a new CDL that
was considered as a "REAL ID". At that point the gun I
was looking at was no longer available. So I decided to
upgrade one of my 10/22s.

Built this.

Do you know why your driver's license was not considered a real ID? The states have mishandled drivers licenses so badly and many have sold bogus DLs to persons who are not here legally till nobody has a clue who has a good Id and who has a bad ID. There was a big push about 10 years ago for a federal ID and everyone went crazy and it was not going to happen. So the feds made the states clean up all there DLs and IDs Ive had a Florida drivers license since 1970 and I had to produce a birth cert. I had one from the hospital i was born in and it was not acceptable, i had to go to the state to get a birth certificate, the very people that allowed this to get this screwed up in the first place.

And...i’m betting the updated, genuine, bonafide, first class, with matching stickers birth certificate was...FREE!

The fed compliant DLs have a star in the upper righthand corner. I had to send $30 to the state of Tennessee and wait about 10 days. I entered the Palm Beach County School system, played little league baseball, Joined the AMA , the APBA all with the old birth certificate. The tax collectors office is where you get tags and DLs here one close by was raided by the FBI and 6 employees were arrested for giving DLs to illegals for $1000 to $1200 each.

Get a lawyer, I think you still have constitutional rights. At least on a very old piece of parchment.
