My standard 10/22 carbine (SS barrel and synthetic stock) cycles well with anything from subsonic ammo to hyper velocity stuff. This leads me to think that it might not be getting the most velocity out of the hyper speed ammo. Has anyone looked at how to modify the 10/22 for optimum use of hyper ammo? For instance, what if just the heavier bolt handle and spring designed for conversions to 17 caliber were installed with the standard 22lr barrel? Theoretically it should help get more velocity out of the hyper speed ammo or am I missing something? If you have any experience along these lines to share with me it would be good to hear from you. Thanks for reading this far.
