1 piece or 2 piece N/F Bases?

New 6BR project in progress and trying to decide whether to use 1 pc or 2 pc Nightforce bases? Planning on the 20 moa bases & 5.5 x 20 N/F scope if it makes a difference. My primary use is varmints, with recreational target shooting when I'm not varminting. Does it really make a difference Thanks Dee

Some folks will say that a 1 piece is apt to be more stable than a 2 piece, and will stiffen up the action. Not sure how that could be measured.... I use a 1 piece usually because there is a bit more room to set the scope where it needs to be, and I use a lot of set ups with 4 rings usually just because.....

Thanks Preacher just trying to decide on which way to go with the bases and if it made that much of a difference

If you are using a stock rem 700 action use the one peace. If you are using and heavy after market might not make any dif

Torque the front 2 screws and see of you can see daylight, or put a .001' feeler gauge where the rear screws go. If the gauge falls through, try thicker gauges to see how big the gap is. I had a 0.0015' gap and used steel shim of same thickness to fill in the imperfection. You can also bed the gap, which is what I will do next time.

Thanks for the tips, have heard of Devcon type bedding material under the mounts for situations like this
