1/4MOA vs. 1cm.

.25 inch vs .36 inch

I like .1 mil clicks as I find 1/4 too fine and 1/2 to coarse. Justmake sure th reticle and clicks are in the same units -- MOA/MOA or MIL/MIL.

But then for shooting 1000yd competition, I think 1/4 min.
clicks are too coarse.
That's why I use 12 x 42 BR Nightforce's instead of a NXS.

I thought Mildots were for ranging, and MOA for holdoff.
Why would you want elevation adjustments in MILs?

Depends on your game.

I shoot Tac rifle comps and many of the stages have multiple targets at multiple distances which require the shooter to hold over for elevation on longer targets. If I know my dope in Mils then the holds are easy -- no need for converting it from MOA to Mils. Also, if making multiple engagements at a specific distance I can watch for the point of impact on the target and see how far off center it measures on the reticle. If I need to come up .2 Mil I can just dial it in. Much btter than having to convert the .2 Mil to MOA and then dial. If the reticle is in Mils, which I use because it's what I know from shooting in the military) having the dials in Mils is much more useful.

If I had to do it over again I would do shooters MOA,exctly 1" at 100yds which makes ranging stupid easy) for the reticle and 1/3 SMOA clicks for my elevation and 1/4 SMOA clicks for windage. I may convert my USOs to this next winter.
