1/4” X 12” X 12” brass sheet use & value?

I have a sheet of brass that measures 1/4” X 12” X 12”+. It was in my Dad’s stuff and probably came from when he worked tool & die at a local shoe factory years ago before becoming manager. I know he made a few knife quillons from it.

My question is what is the use and value besides scrap medal? Anyone here have a need for this? I’d like to see it used for something by someone who’d appreciate it. One side does have a few shallow scratches and I tried my best to get them in the photo. It’s tarnished but seemed to shine up in the spot I hit.
Thanks!
Tony

Nice offer.
However if it was my father’s ( who I only slightly knew.) I’d keep it. A piece of sheet brass? Well if you have nothing from him, kind of nice to have. It’s not like it’s taking up a lot of space.
Still. A nice offer.

It really is only worth the value to somebody that doesn't need the traceability of the material for a project.

Brass is very easy to buy and sell. The scrap price of brass like that is about $2.50 /lb and if you wanted to buy good material it would run about $450 for a 0.250" x 12" x 24"

ETA: if you post it in the F/S section for free or a price, you will probably find someone close by who wants it. If not, it is easy to scrap it and get cash.

Years and years ago, I took some continuing education classes of stick welding as well as heli-arc welding. I know we had some 6"X6" X 1/8" pieces of brass, as part of our kit, but I have no recollection whatsoever what we used them for.
