Nightforce 4 x 14 X 56 IHR Iluminated

In 2002 I won a Remington model 7. I shot it with a 2 x 8 Leupold compact mounted on a Evolution Gunwork's Piccatinny rail and Tactical Precision rings, for about 10 years. Then I trued the action, retimed the bolt, replaced the front lug, and added a 20" 1:12, 5R barrel. putting it in a McMillian BDL Edge Tech stock, and Hawkins Precision bottom metal. I replaced the 2 x 8 Leupold with a Sightron 3.5 x 10 X 44 SIII Illuminated. Liked the scope but the Tactical Turrets had to be replaced with covered target turrets to keep them from moving when being transported. Last year I replaces the Sightron with a 2.5 x 10 NightForce NSX, MOAR, Illuminated. I liked the scope but the cross hairs covered up to much. I had several deer at 337 yards and at 10X the crosshairs covered up so much area I did not feel comfortable taking the shot. The following day I took my other 308 to the same stand and it is topped with a 5.5 x 22 X 56 NSX with a PR-2 reticle. I had the same deer come out at 337 yards. Granted these to scopes are different I put the 5.5 x 22 X 56 set a 10X onto the deer and there was a clear improvement on visualization for shot placement. So I replaced it with NightForce 4 x14 x56 SHV IHR Illuminated. Yesterday I shot my first deer with the SHV. To say I was pleased was and understatement.
