1:14 twist in a 6mm for varmints

is 1/10 twist too fast for 60 grain flat base bullets? I recently bought some old BR bullets, Cook's, Watson, and Bruno. Mostly Cook's.
10T will work well, but the length of the throat should be your major concern as well as throat dia. For example, a .2435 throat may not work well with a .2435 bullet dia, The Devil is in the details.

I have a 9 twist 6BRA that shoots the 58gr. really well without any issues whatsoever.
How heavy of a bullet will the 9 twist shoot well? I'm gonna get a new barrel in either 243 or 6 creed and was thinking on the 9 to shoot 60 gr. - 95 gr. bullets. Thanks..

I think you would be fine with a 9 twist for those bullets, but it’s going to be a lot easier to find an 8 twist barrel in stock.

Everyone always talks about the twist rate, when a throat length and throat dia is also of MAJOR concern.

Choose you your poison, 87g V max to 95g?

or

55g(58g)- 75g

Throat and twist accordingly.

The 6-6.5/47 Lapua shoots the 70's at 3700 fps, so does the 6 XC....hint!

In my experience, those light bullets did not shoot little tiny groups jumping, and the more you shoot the barrel, the more they have to jump...don't back yourself into a corner.

I have a Sako 6ppc that is really accurate. I've taken it on PD shoots - loaded w/ 58 g V-max bullets. I generally chose another rifle beyond 300 yds, though, as I also brought 22-250's and 6mm's. fwiw.
