My boy killed a black bear at 605 yards last year with his 6brx and the 107's,...I think they will do the job on a coyote for sure, good luck and happy hunting.Ironworker said:107 Sierra MK is what my 6x284 loves ,but how are they on coyotes ?

A lot of people do that, it gives you practice like your shooting animal, I used to do that,...now I have targets welded on a old hay bale elevatorCaptainMal said:Used to shoot tires. Stuck cardboard in the center and rolled them down a hill. Loaded them up on a little trailer pulled by a tractor and did it again and again.
When the cardboard fell out of the center, I would make perfect hits in the middle. Swear I'm right.
Bringing old farm equiptment back to life. You could use full size steel targets. I could see something like that on Top Shots.bozo699 said:now I have targets welded on a old hay bale elevator
Wayne.
As long as your kids are young enough for you to force them to do it or if you can sweet talk your wife it works greatcalib said:i have heard of the cardboard in tires how does that work
At 800 and beyond isn't a issue with hides it's when you are at closer ranges, it's speed and thin wall bullets that blow up on impact and tear up the hide, at 800 yards the speed on my 6*284 is reduced to about 2019 fps, 2019 fps doesn't blow up it just makes a .243 diameter hole.calib said:i think if you are making long range shots especially once you get out to about 800 on up who cares what the hides look like you get a good shot on at range.
i am not worried about shooting the 107's any more just thought i would see if it could even be done.
i am really wanting the 95's to stay together and do what i hope they can. i have looked at a couple places that have custome bullets and i have maybe found the perfect solution. a 6mm 100 grain vld bullet not even on the market yet but it should have the weight for energy and the speed to keep some decent trajectory. i hope that i can get a hold of some of these.
and no its not berger
