03 Sporter...anyone know the stock maker ?

I was wondering if anyone may know the maker of this stock ? My Son picked up a nice 03 that has been sporterized . I am guessing this is an old build ,whomever did it put some work into it . Are there any telltale signs of the maker or company that produced it . Thanks for any insight you may have. I know this is a longshot, but figured if anyone knew it would be someone here.IMG_2314.JPG IMG_2325.JPG IMG_2318.JPG IMG_2309.JPG IMG_2332.JPG

Doesn't resemble any of the Bishop or Fajen stocks. Especially the cheek piece. Then again how it was ordered percentage wise comes in to play.
There were just so many of these done that were done up to look like a style.
I had a Mauser that a lot of Weatherby guys thought it was a really early one, but no absolute proof.

Where did you purchase this nice piece it looks a little familiar.
Malone , North East New York state...Canada border . I was with my Son checking out shops in the area, I kept circling back to it while he was checking out pistols. He saw I fell in love with it,but did not say a word(I rambled on about it all the way home)...called the shop and bought it for me . Quite a surprise that was when he told me to close my eyes a couple days later...never know with that kid.

Well it looks familiar a gentleman in Huntington wva had one that looks a lot like that one in a 280 Remington beautiful piece of wood.

As Fajen was closing their doors I bought several pre-inlets that they had in stock. One had a cheek pieces very similar to that. But, it could be anything. Could be from a pre-inlet, could be one someone made by hand. Some guys had time to do things like that, back in "the day". But just as today, many of those pre-inlets got set in the corner, and never finished. Nice piece of birds-eye maple though, just not shaped in the style I'd prefer.

Herters , kliens , Flaigs and a few more but my memory is a little slow . Stoegers
Sile , Royal Arms ,

Dozens of smaller makers . Your stock could be any . It most closely resembles the Flaigs from the mid 50s

Think I just found the nearest blank like it . 1952 American rifleman , page 80 , Banks , Maxwell ft worth , Texas . Similar cheek , caps and pad .
I can send email pics .
Email me at ggmac5@aol.com
That is a hi number Springfied !

Pic sent
Is it a Mershon recoil brand pad or pachmyer white line ? It'll date it but the one in the pic I sent has the French curve cheek piece and the similar recoil pad . I'm afraid unless you find a name , this may be as close as you can get .
I'll keep looking

Thanks again for all the help . The pad is hard to read but I see Herter's,and the model name looks to be Olympic something ?

Interesting . It just so happens I'm working on a Herters ,new old stock , 1903 Springfield Cherry target stock . The stock was purchased in the mid 60s by my uncle . It's going on a M. Martin 1903 257 Roberts . He was famous for his articles in various gun magazines on lead bullet loads and cartridges .
It sounds like you have a good one . Let me know how it shoots .
