  1. Forgetting Gear on Trip to Range

This has happened to me as well. Now, the only items I have to put in the truck are my firearm(s) and ammo. Everything else is in a container under the bed cover.
  2. Attaching bag chair to backpack?

I used the game cart below for the past couple of years and it worked out very well. Of course I sound like I'm part of a wagon train when going across the PD fields. I carry my 20 VT and 17 HMR along with ammo for each, folding chair, tripod, snacks, etc.. This year I used my backpack and...

It's not going to change. It's over according to the owner.
  5. 204 ruger with light load or 20 Vartarg for 20 Vartarg velocities

Too much confusion for me. I stayed with the 20VT. If you don't have a 20VT yet, I would go 20 Fireball. For me now, it's the simpler the better.
  6. 223, 1-7 twist vs bullet weight

I have 2 barrels from the UrbanRifleman, 6 BR & 20 Practical. Both very accurate. I would buy from him again. Very good turn around time as well.
  7. 223, 1-7 twist vs bullet weight

I purchased this barrel new at a very cheap price. I'm not sure why they sold it so cheap, but I very seldom get a deal like this. Plus, the wait time for a new barrel is 3-6 months depending where it's purchased. I can live with the 7 twist, just looking for a light bullet that will work.
  8. 223, 1-7 twist vs bullet weight

My 20 VT shoots 32 gr & 40 gr Vmax very accurately. It looks like the PD sat on a bomb when it's hit.
  9. 223, 1-7 twist vs bullet weight

I have a barrel coming for a Contender that I'm building in 223 and it has a 7 twist. Would I be able to shoot 50 gr bullets or would they separate before hitting the target? I shoot lots of 60 gr in my rifle with no issues, but I'm looking for a light weight bullet that would work well with...
  10. Coloring bullet tips.

I've tried the bullet coloring to no avail. It has never worked for me. I tried it two different ways. Coloring just after reloading and coloring just before the shot. I have never seen a color ring on my target. Those with success at this, how do you do it?
  11. Shooting Bench Modifications

Lab jacks work really well. I've been using one for many years on a rest I use for revolvers and specialty pistols. The rest below shows the forearm rest for the Remington. I have another one the revolvers. When I'm done for the day, I raise the lab jack up until the barrel is pointed...

  15. Anyone use Quad Sticks ?

Like other styles of rest, I think it would take some off season practice to really be proficient with quad sticks. I've played with a set, but never shot from a set. I did a lot of fumbling around and wasn't really steady looking through the scope. That is not say qaud sticks are bad, it was...
  16. Lighter shooting bags to carry around

I never shoot prone any longer, but do shoot off the back of the truck using a bag or my walk around rig. I tried plastic beads and they worked okay but still had weight to them with a large bag. I went to Git-Lite. Git-Lite has several different types of fill. One very light weight fill has...
  17. Recommended Powders for 223 Remington

If you go to loaddata.com, you can see lots of good loading information on the powders you mentioned.

The guy was a prick. I'm glad he's gone.
  19. 20 practical

I've purchased 2 prefit barrels from The Urban Rifleman, one in 6BR and the other in 20 Practical. Both shoot really really well. I would buy another from him if I ever need one. I do not neck turn on either barrel.
