  1. Berger 80.5 vs Hornady 80 gr ELD

Not sure what your use for the 80's are, but I tried out the Hornady 80 ELD-X. The X is for expand. These shot really well in my .223.
  2. Bolt action pistol build

As just mentioned, keep us posted. I'm getting ready to build my 3rd specialty pistol and have been looking at the left bolt Kauger as well. This LINK shows a Kauger action being used for a .22 creedmoor. He uses a right hand action since he's left handed. You might contact Ernie he's the...
  3. PTG custom actions

PTG is all about money and not customer service. Before I knew better, I ordered several products from them. They shipped one item at a time, extra shipping charges. That's because the items were not in stock. They told me one product was in stock and it would go out the following day. 3...
  4. steel media

I prefer the chips over the pins. The pins have a tendency to get stuck in flash holes or the case. Chips will not get stuck. I don't remember which chips I have used but they were very flat. Might have been from Ammo Brass.
  5. Anybody Shooting a Nosler Independence Handgun ?

Maybe Ernie will respond. I think he has one. I've heard nothing but good about the M48.
  6. Possible 204 Ruger Bolt Gun Build

    20 Practical - It's the easy button.
  7. Using spacers with suppressor to tune harmonics for accuracy

Some shooters have been using the Sharpshooter X-Ring Barrel Deresonator for many years. I would try this approach first before adding spacers.
  8. What 20 caliber ….

20 Practical This is the Easy Button for a 20 caliber rifle. Lots of information on the forums.
  9. Game Cart modification

I really like the idea of a one wheel game cart, but concerned about the stability of it. When going over rocks, small logs or limbs, hitting a PD hole, etc., the cart would have a tendency to shift to one side. Once it shifts, the load would also shift unless secured. Kinda like using a...
  10. Game Cart modification

Google - Motorized Game Carts There's quite a few different styles available just for this type of terrain. Drawbacks 1. More expensive 2. Some are more bulky that a traditional game cart 3. One you like may take up a lot more room in the truck 4. Battery operated
  11. Went pigeon hunting with pcp

markT - What are you using for an air supply? I know the rifle has the tube, but what are you using to refill it?
  12. Game Cart modification

I like it. The big wheel makes it much easier to move across the uneven ground. I tried a similar one but the one wheel was just not stable enough for me. I went to a conventional 2 wheel game cart. I added a removable box on it that allows me to carry lunch folding game chair, ammo, etc...
  13. THE NEW SSK-50 RECEIVER

When I bought my barrel, it came directly from SSK. They were the only suppliers that had one in stock. I've read a few post on some other forums where some guys are having issues fitting a non SSK barrel. They didn't say what the issue was.
  14. THE NEW SSK-50 RECEIVER

I purchased my SSK-50 from Midway USA. At the time of my purchase about 2 months ago it was in stock and I got it in about 3 days. I put an SSK 14" .223 Rem. barrel with a 7 twist on it. I also added a JP muzzle brake and a Nightforce SHV scope. I've only been able to shoot out to 100 yards...
  15. Hammer on Empty Chamber on Single Action Revolvers

I do the same on my single actions. My double action .454 is only 5 shots so it gets 5 rounds loaded. Not worried about the double action since it has a transfer bar.
  16. Tripod Ball Head for PD ATV Mount

Whatever you come up with, make sure you post photos. Interesting project.
  17. Colt SAA work?

If you haven't already, go to the Single Actions website. There are quite a few smiths mentioned over there time and time again for the work they do. I haven't used any of the smiths mentioned, but some receive a lot of praise. I know the Bowen has been discussed a lot.
  18. Tripod Ball Head for PD ATV Mount

Are you going to use the ballhead on the 6x6 platform? It looks like you've already got a good setup.
  19. Sent email to Savage asking about centerfeed 6BR specific magazine!

I got a Savage model 10 from my son that was in 308. It was one of those Savage puts on sale from time to time. Very cheap stock, pencil barrel, not accurate at all. He never used it. When I got it, I stripped it down to the action. The Urbanrifleman on this forum made me 6BR barrel and I...
  20. Rotator cuff 10 week update

Some years ago when I first tore mine, I couldn't shoot a rifle. I tried a friends Specialty Pistol and bought one a short time later. The recoil directly in my shoulder was very painful. However, with the SP there was no direct recoil to the shoulder. There was some movement in my arm but...
