  1. Bipod

First, there is nothing wrong with a Harris for run and gun. As far as I can tell, that is what it was designed for - fast deploy, and better than shooting off a ruck or a rock. The design does have problems when you are doing precision shooting. First and foremost is the canting. The factory...

  3. Replacement Savage action?

Shhhhhh. Some members are in their quiet space.
  4. Gunsmith question

    Mine does.
  5. Where do you store your press parts?

For small parts I mainly use the top and bottom of small bullet boxes and use them as 'bins' inside drawers under the bench. If I did not have drawers, I would probably put some masking tape on the same boxes only keep them paired up so they close, mark them, and toss them on a shelf.
  6. Replacement Savage action?

What you have sounds like a typical savage. Some are looser than a three dollar hooker. If you have not already done so, strip the bolt down to the pin assembly (don't remove the spring), including taking off the bolt head. Remove all the grease. Use a minimal (as in minimal !!) amount of silver...
  7. Stripping and re-bluing Remington action

Looks good from here - nice job.
  8. Labradar app help

The only time I have had something similar happen was with Android. I had location services turned off. Turned it on and the app started working?
  9. TESTED: NEW RCBS MatchMaster Powder Dispenser

Been there. I put a big piece of blue tape on the front and top of the hopper that said something like "Close Me." Never happened again after that. Eventually quit using it and sold it after buying the AT kit with Area 419 hardware.
  10. Labradar app help

Desk top as in computer desktop, or are you saying the icon is on the home screen on your phone?
  11. I think I have found the ultimate carbon cleaner...

The non-CA (and possibly other states) approved spray is Berryman B-12 Chemtool. Part numbers 0010 (10 oz), 0117 (16 oz). This spray WILL ABSOLUTELY MESS UP some finishes in no time. I had some mist onto the lid of my parts washer that requires the use of "California" approved chemicals - left...
  12. TESTED: NEW RCBS MatchMaster Powder Dispenser

While I agree a drain under the unit is a good thing, a drain that requires you to move the scale and hold the unit off the table is not. Way to big of a sacrifice vs. the side drain of the CM.
  13. TESTED: NEW RCBS MatchMaster Powder Dispenser

But come on - you can link multiple systems together. If you buy 4 of these gems it will be faster than 1 Auto Trickler.
  14. How to get SD as low as possible when reloading for .308 subsonic

My initial reaction is to echo that of others - why are you trying to do this? Yes neck tension matters, but with subsonic you are fighting powder that is just kind of floating around in the case. Throw the bolt and the powder may be slumped right behind the bullet. Settle into a bag and it may...
  15. Horizontal stringing ?

Everyday Sniper podcast. It is on Podbean. Not sure about other platforms. I want to say the first time they talk about it is in the early episodes, but it comes up every once in a while.
  16. Horizontal stringing ?

Frank Gali and Mark (Marc?; don't recall his last name) - Marine Scout Sniper guys that run a class up there.
  17. Horizontal stringing ?

Guys up in AK have found that vertical split rings are causing vertical stringing.
  18. Bullet Sorting

I don't keep a log of my sorting, but if memory serves correct 1000 Sierra in 0.0005 increments usually gives me 2 really good bins that are around 60% of the lot. Next 30% is in 2 or 3 bins, with the stragglers in another 2-4. By out to 4 I am talking as few as 1 bullet in a bin. Berger is...
  19. Horizontal stringing ?

Better control of the rear bag. Holding breath / not pressing trigger at the natural pause. Are you letting your rounds cook in a hot chamber? Any chance you are running vertical split rings?
  20. Lube Dent Chronic Problem Solved

I have 5 Redding dies. Never dented a case. Something is wrong with your process.
