  1. 9-26 & 400...

If there were prairie dogs in my state I would not be able to hold a job.
  2. resize a loaded cartridge ?

Touche. You are exactly right. Seating a bullet is the same thing. Maybe it is the force involved in a sizing die that makes me uneasy about it.
  3. resize a loaded cartridge ?

I would not do this. Putting a loaded round into a press and then pushing it into a die sounds like a dangerous proposition. Sounds a lot like how a rifle works, one that is pointed at your face when you push that ram down.
  4. He looked at me a bit too long.........Snert

Oh the distance was point blank. Only 50 yards. His hole was in a place that could not be seen from any further away than that.
  5. He looked at me a bit too long.........Snert

After waiting a while on this hog, he finally stuck his head out of his hole. He looked straight at me with his mouth open so i slipped a 55gr vmax between his front teeth. The bullet did not exit but it split his scalp back to both ears and turned his head to mush.
  6. Back Country Hunting Scope

I think you already have one of the very best hunting scopes there are. Personally, i would gladly carry the extra few ounces that come with the Nightforce. Since i cried the first time and bought my first Nightforce, I have come to find that it is well worth it to know that my scope stays...
  7. Unusual barrel break-in.

I think it sounds like a good way to bulge and ruin a perfectly good barrel. As stated above, oil does not compress.
  8. False Lands measurement

the brownells caliber specific plugs with kroil and jb's has always worked well on mine
  9. False Lands measurement

I would be looking for a carbon ring. My 243 AI is bad about forming a ring and will even start to leave scratches on live ejected rounds.
  10. Marine Tex bedding question

Do you mean with the stock itself clamped in a bench vise? I use a bench vise to bed but I clamp the barrel only in the vise with padded jaws. That way the stock rests against nothing and the action does not have the weight of the barrel hanging on it as the epoxy cures.
  11. Here piggy piggy....

    Chuck or Amy?
  12. Be Thankful, Cause You Never Know!

I am glad that your family is safe. God was surely watching over them.
  13. The new Colt Python

Not as bad as Browning and their new "A5." That one hurt my feelings.
  14. What did you kill this fall, and what did you use?

Shot an 8pt and a doe with a 7mm Dakota and 180gr vld. One more doe dies by the hand of a 243ai and a 105 Berger hybrid. Those 105 hybrids impress me more with each deer i shoot with them.
  15. Devcon set time

......that or failing to see a void that needed filling with putty and creating a mechanical lock.
  16. Devcon set time

Thanks. I typically bed my floorplate the day after the action so my action sits for two days anyhow.
  17. Devcon set time

I am looking for opinions on how long you should let Devcon set before shooting a rifle. I do my cleanup and machining the day after bedding but am wondering how long it takes for the bedding to cure completely to where the rifle is good to shoot. I am using Devcon 10110. Thanks for any help.
  18. Remington 700 Sendero 300 Win Mag Issues

I ran into this a while back with a post-64 Winchester model 70 that I have. I had a 5.5-22 NF on it which I sold to a friend in order to upgrade to an 8-32 NF. I never knew I had a problem until I mounted the 8-32 because it has less windage adjustment than the 5.5-22 did. I simply could not...
