  1. Redding BR powder measure VS Harrill BR measure???

I purchased my two measures from Homer at the BR match in Wapwalapin in the late 60's, neither has failed to be consistent / with slight lean toward the ball powder of today. in the 60-'s and 70's I can not think of a BR shooter loading at the range that did not use Homers and a specific setting...

Well, having shot BR with Mike Walker and hunted deer with him, you may be surprised to hear his BR load for 52/53 gr pills was imr 4895! most every one else used 4198 and as powders began to change and new ones added favorites began to show 2015 winning matches and setting records for a few...

  9. Brass cleaning, question

the answer is a media separator, when I spoke of the situation as I currently have it the cases sit base down, thus the media is in them, easy to get out but a pain to do so the way I have been doing it. thanks of the RCBS separator Bob

  11. Brass cleaning, question

I understand that, however considering doin 400-500 pistol and 150-200 rifle that is a lot of time, what I do now is get the bulk out with the strainer on the vibrator, then take my hands and scoop the brass "turning" it to get the powder out. that takes time and I was looking for something...
  12. Brass cleaning, question

I read the post re additives to compound and decided to try NuFinish which I added as discussed to some new cobb for my vibrator cleaner that is 25 years old results great, ? on pistol (and I am sure rifle) brass the cobb mixture sits in the bottom of the case, as the rim is heaviest thus I had...

  15. Old Army shooters

Walt the thing that got me the most was the dust, high wind and sand at Gordon and Jackson - no grass or brush -the target would actually disappear for a time then you had to rush. my coach taught me the system of rhythm - the dust would break the rhythm and then you had to hurry. I still sense...
  16. .221Fireball or .222 Remington ???????

this is a fun topic, there is very little difference in the accuracy of the 221,222,222m as I have had them all in 40x"s with hart bbl for pd shooting, I will say the 221 max out about 250-300 if there is moderate wind, the 222 at 300-400 and the 222m will work will out to 450 in my experience...
  17. Old Army shooters

Walt, the most resounding thing to me was the NM M1 with RA match ammo, amazing to get 17-18 V's at 600 with iron sights and a 250 score. my first outing with the M1 was in basic at Jackson shooting to qualify, after standing completed I had a tap on the shoulder, a LT indicate the Col wanted...

  20. What the smallest centerfire?

Naugas, you see, are hunted for their skins — that's where we get naugahyde from. Or at least that's what some people believe, thanks to a humorous advertising campaign of the late 1960s and early 1970s. Naugas are fictional creatures invented solely as a marketing device to help sell naugahyde...
