    Favorite Deburring tool (OD)?

Only shoot for pleasure and varmints, so maybe I'm not as critical of the process. Since I only need to worry about case neck de-burring when trimming cases, that's also when I check to see if the case-neck thickness has migrated during repeated loading cycles. I just chuck my brass (after...

    Powder cup recommendations??

Not real familiar with the SuperTrickler, but why wouldn't a set or two of the plain aluminum measuring cups (read 'WalMart') for measuring coffee work? Looks like you calibrate to include the cup when setting zero, so the weight (within reason) shouldn't be a big deal. Heck, if it works I might...

Classifieds -- Increase Caution RE Scammers

Guess I don't understand the problem. On my phone, the warning comes in at the top of the page and disappears upward as you scroll down. No issues at all on my laptop. Am I not seeing something? Either way, it's the Boss's decision to make.

Q re Ruger New Model Blackhawk

If you replace the grip frame with steel, you might also consider replacing the ejector rod housing with a steel one and also replace the cylinder pin with an oversized one. The steel ejector housing and grip frame changes the balance a little (in a way I liked) and the new pin helps cut down on...

    Removing stuck case

Great tip...thanks. Stuck a case in a die many years ago and didn't have an extractor kit. Went to the local AC store and got a can of freon. Removed the nut from the de-priming rod to make a little room to stick a spray tube in, sprayed the case from the inside with the freon and used the...

What is your favorite brass, and why?

My choices are pretty mundane by the standards of many, since I don't compete except against myself: .17 Remington - Remington nickel plated (lasts forever) in one and Nosler in the other .223 Remington - LC '89 (have a small truckload of it), Starline unplated and Remington nickel plated...

    Help with Hornady data please.

Also Shooter's Reference Cartridges May not have every new cartridge, and can seem a bit awkward to navigate, but it is a great source for comparing the various loads between other manuals/manufacturers.

    Help with Hornady data please.

Really not a fan of the Hornady app. I've had it for about a year now and will not be renewing it. Images are so faint they are hard to read, app fails to open about 40% of the time unless you repeatedly try. Nothing has been updated and most of the info hasn't changed since the last printing...

    Home Defense

All well and good, except the last time I had to call the sheriff it took them 45 minutes to get here. Thankfully it was only for a carload of drunks that crashed in my front yard, but a couple were quite belligerent about me calling the law and only cooled off a little and backed off when they...

Carry Long Gun Muzzle Up or Muzzle Down?

Muzzle up. A person's natural instinct when falling is to elevate the muzzle when breaking the fall. If muzzle down, this brings the muzzle into a position of covering anything in your path if it discharges. If carried with the muzzle up, most people would hold the firearm up to keep from...

    Shell case question

I have a lot of nickel plated brass including .17 Remington, .223, 7mm BR, .44 Magnum and .45 ACP. None are the least bit difficult to size. Nickel plated steel might be the problem, but I also see some pretty odd looking firing pin dents in the OP's primers...still think they are steel cases.

    Shell case question

Try a magnet against it. Some imported military cases are steel.

    H322

Totally understand the concept. In my case, the 6 pounds I have left in my last 8-pound jug of H322 is reserved for my 7BR XP-100. Still a firm devotee of Bob Milek's favorite loads and haven't found any powder that works better with my chosen bullet weights - 100-grain HP, 120-grain Hornady...
