  1. Eley match question

I also think mv matters much. To get the best performance, you need to test different lots and then use the one that performed best. I don't know the current situation, but when ammo is plentiful Kathy at Good Shooting, Inc. will sell test lots consisting of one or two boxes of five (I think)...
  2. Best currently available non-joystick Front Rest?

The adjustable one is the most versatile. That's the one I use most, with my benchrest stocks. But for sporter rifles with a narrow frore end, I use the "bag" top with a narrow bag, and you can of course get bags in varying widths.
  3. Euro CZ 452 Scope ring

Burris Signature Zee rings are made for Picatinny/Weaver rails, The ones for grooved receivers don't get the "Zee" suffix - they're just Burris Signature rings. I use both types on different rifles.
  4. GENE AUTRYS CODE OF CONDUCT

My guess is that it'd be the same ones now pushing critical race theory, drag queen story telling hour and sex education for kindergartners. Oh, and the ones who think men can have babies, don't know what a woman is and that it's ok to sexually mutilate children for "gender affirmation".
  5. How do you tell someone

Ditto to that. And. one more...don't shoot from the bench next to his!
  6. Shooting Sports Proper References and Grammar

What does "having a barrel spun up" even mean? I don't think I've ever come across that term before.
  7. Shooting Sports Proper References and Grammar

Umm...what's wrong with "6.5 Creedmore"? Seems pretty specific to me, but then I don't shoot it.
  8. J frame questions

Looks just like my mod. 38, except that I think yours looks shinier. I use mine for EDC in a pocket holster.
  9. J frame questions

I think it's just an effort to keep me in a constant state of confusion. Seems to be working! :)
  10. J frame questions

I wish S&W would stop recycling their gun model names. For example, when I see or hear "Bodyguard" I automatically think of the hump-backed J-frame they introduced back in the 1950's (like the one Dusty pictured above) and when I hear "Victory" the one that comes to mind is the model 10 from...
  11. scope recommendation

It's kinda hard to describe, but there's a picture at Amazon.com. Just do a search there for mueller apv 6-18x44. Like they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.
  12. scope recommendation

I have both a 36X Weaver and a 36X Sightron. I'm a big Sightron fan and used to feel the same way about Weaver. I consider the Weaver 36 and the Sightron 36 to be equal. I can see no difference optically. Having said that, Sightron is still in business and Weaver isn't. I'd rather have a...
  13. scope recommendation

You might look at the Mueller 6-18x44. A Mueller APV 6-18x44 might be just what you're looking for. $170 at Amazon.com. If you're interested, I have one of these LNIB you can have for $125 + $20 shipping.
  14. scope recommendation

You need to specify what price range you want to stay in. "Low cost" means different things to different people.
  15. Thoughts on S&W Mdl.17

They are indeed target grips, not magna. I've never heard them called "football" grips before, so I learned something today!
  16. 20.5" Lilja bull barrel on CZ 455, Harrel tuner too heavy?

FWIW, my primary bench rest rifle is a 40X with a 28" heavy Lilja barrel and an Accushot tuner. The tuner does definitely make a difference. The Harrel tuner is lighter than my Accushot, and I can't imagine it'd hurt your accuracy. If you need more weight you can always add weights to it.
  17. Gun Ugly but shoots great -- What to do??

I think you answered your own question.
  18. Package theives

You probably could, but then your porch would stink for a long time.
  19. Fat Fingers

Yep. I have one of these for my CZs and it works like a champ.
  20. What is everyone using for .22lr cleaning rod?

Ditto. I have about 6 or 8 cleaning rods, and have found the Bore Tech "Bore Stix" (I think that's what it's called. It's the one with the green handle). All of the rods are good, but this one is tops, IMO. One thing I've always found annoying in using a rod with a detachable tip is that the...
