  1. Delays in Bolt Delivery from Pacific Tool and Gauge

I have dealt with PT&G for several years and have never had a pleasant experience. They have lousy customer service and will lie to your face. I have purchased a bolt from them in the past and at the time I ordered it, I was told it was in stock. 3 months later I received my bolt. The fit...
  2. Need advice choosing an arbor press

21st Century - This is what I have been using for several years and it has worked out really well. It goes to the range with me every time. One thing I have noticed that appears to be common in a lot of small arbor presses is that when turning the clamping lever/wheel, it does not always hold...

6 BR, 24" length, 8 twist barrel from The Urbar Rifleman Bergers 87 gr & 105gr VLD Hunting 87's most of the time, 105's for 15+ mph winds The Wilson barrel that he furnishes you is very nice. I like it so much, he is making me a 20 P right now.
  5. Best carry sling for heavy hunting rifle

As mentioned above, Slogan Outdoors My 6 BR coyote rifle is 14 lbs. I looked at a lot of slings before purchasing the Slogan. I don't remember the model I purchased, but the strap is 1.5" wide. You can wear it on your shoulder as you would any sling or wear it like a backpack. It doesn't move...
  6. Recommend a loupe or visor

I use the flip up visor as well. It works really well. For over 50 years, I used a fingerprint loop similar to the one pictured below. It is great for fine detail use. When I retired, it went home with me and I still use it today. A Bosh & Lomb hand magnifier is also very handy to have on...
  7. New Replacement Stock for Savage

KRG Bravo I rebuilt my Savage Mod 10 from 308 to 6 BR. This is the stock I used. I can't say enough good things about it.
  8. 20 Practical Question

I haven't tried this since I don't have my barrel yet, but I've read where some folks are resizing as .223 1st, then resize the neck area with a smaller bushing and then a final neck sizing with a slightly smaller bushing. By reducing the neck in smaller steps, this is suppose to help prevent...

  11. New Hunting Breed Could Be Deadly

  12. 20 Pratical Barrel Question

I'm going to build a 20 Practical and have a few questions. I'm not interested in a .204 Ruger or the Tactical 20. I already have a .223, 20 Vartarg and a 6BR. So the 20 Practical will be built. The 20 VT may be sold later. It will be a Varmint - Target rifle. No competition, just range...
  13. Mac's muzzle brakes

I have 2, both on .223 bolt rifles. As any muzzle brake, it's loud, but it does help. I have no venting on the bottom, just the top and sides.
  14. Best Deer Cart?

I'm not a deer hunter any more but do use a game cart for prairie dogging. As mentioned before, larger wheels make it much easier to move around. If your in rough country, rocks, fallen limbs, trees, etc., the large wheels make it easier to go over obstacles. There are also an electronic game...
  15. Does anyone shoot P Dogs from a stand up tripod?

I think tripods are great, but if you have to practice with them before your hunt. When shooting a rifle or pistol, I zero them from the bench. When I know everything is working the way it should. I then switch over to the tripod. I like to shoot sitting from a fold chair or 3 legged stool...
  16. Bolt face

Is the bolt hard to close on an empty chamber? Clean the bolt face and matching area where it meets the bolt. Then put Dykem Steel Blue on the bolt face. If the bolt is touching the barrel, you will be able to easily see scratches on the bolt face where you applied the die.

  19. BEST HARD RIFLE CASE FOR FLYING

You're right. I couldn't find a true tracking tag for the off brand phones. This is all I could find; Is there a Samsung version of AirTags? The bottom line is while the Apple AirTag is a better device tracker, if you're on a Samsung Galaxy phone, you're stuck with the SmartTag+ and vice...
  20. BEST HARD RIFLE CASE FOR FLYING

True, but there are other air tags out there that work with the off brand phones as well. Google is your friend.
