CZ-457 Criterion prefit barrel

Has anyone tried a CZ-457 Criterion pre-fit barrel from Whidden? If so, what do you think?

I ordered one from Whidden. Should be here in about a week. I’ll post my results after shooting with a variety of ammo.

I bought one last year. I’ve only shot 39 rounds through it though. It did really impress me. I only shot SK RM and UM22 through it. These aren’t all the groups that day, but wow.
The reason I haven’t shot it more is I work 60+ hours per week and what little time I have to shoot I’ve been shooting ABRA Factory with a CZ 457. I liked the Criterion ao I bought a blank and had it put on my 2500X. I shot one match with it after a windy tuning session. I came in middle of the pack, but it did shoot a 199.

I just got my CZ barreled action with the Criterion prefit back from having it bedded into a BR stock. Haven’t shot it yet.

I put a 24" straight profile, .90" diameter barrel on my CZ457.

For the price point it is a tack driver.

SK and Lapua varieties pretty readily shoot .3" groups at 50 yds (5 shots per group).

I think it has the capability to do better with a tuner on it.

Just got mine delivered. Will install it and test it this coming week. Glad to see people getting good results.

Yes. Using Norma TAC-22 ammo, my rifle with the Criterion barrel shot a .166" group at 50 yds. Pretty amazing, especially good value.

I don't shoot benchrest.

Installed a 20" Whidden Criterion on a CZ457 action. It's working well enough for my wife in long gong.

This is 10 shots at 50 yards with SK Long Range Match.

I wish they made those MTR stocks in left hand configuration.

CZ457, 20" Whidden Criterion, MDT XRS stock. This pic also shows an original Bushnell DMR 3.5-18x50 scope, which has been replaced with a DNT The One 7-35x56 scope.

With some fresh rules at a club I shoot I decided to put a barrel on one of my MTR's--ordered one today will be here Wed--so we will see...When you compare the ship time , Whidden doing the chamber, and no months of waiting like others --looks like the way to go, I have stated I would only get a Muller but price and wait time I thought I would take a gamble

I bought a 26" Criterion from Whidden in August of last year. So far I've shot about 800 rounds through it. I'm very satisfied. I'm not a benchrest shooter, I shoot steel PRS style matches. I'm more interested in how it groups at 100-200 yards than how well it groups at 50.

I haven't been able to test a lot of different ammo. I got better groups Eley Team than Eley Match. With Eley Match I had SD of 10-12. with Eley Team SD of 5-7. I got to shoot a little Eley Tenex and it grouped very well.

Here’s a picture of the first 30 shots from my Whidden Criterion CZ 457 prefit barrel. Considering the wind was causing the target stand to wobble around and my shooting skills pretty much suck, I’m happy with the barrel.

Couldn’t sell my factory ones fast enough

Factory barrels seem to shoot a couple lots pretty good, a couple really good

These shoot, most lots pretty good and several of them astoundingly well

I don’t know why I’m even saying this because next time I ever want one they’ll be priced accordingly

I have a hard time wondering WHY, anyone would Question Criterion Barrels at, THIS Point ??
They,.. ARE,. PROVEN,.. for,.. Quality & Accuracy and Tested thoroughly, Long Before ever Shipping,.. ANY,.. Out !
