Rimfire benchrest at cherry ridge 2026

VLNBYR, Hey, you've got to start somewhere.
I believe our program is superior to the other organizations with more classes, and 50-100 matches.
Give it a try, you may like it.

Few shoot it, classes are a non issue, the ultimate “ feel good” target…..far too easy.

Great choice all of 3 or maybe 4 clubs in the whole USA shooting IBS rimfire and all on the east coast.
We’ve shot rimfire IBS rimfire the last 2 years as well as our club weekly series, ARA, and IBS Centerfire VFS. What I like for IBS Rimfire is the challenge of shooting a 50yd target and a 100yd target for each match. Competition runs pretty tight so dropping just a few points can really hurt. No longer a provisional series so it will be interesting to see if more clubs pick up and list their scores with IBS…

I MD IR50/50 at a club that has added 3 different rimfire sanctioning bodies in the last two years. None of them IBS. When I see a new guy practicing RFBR at my personal club using IBS RF targets I always encourage them to shoot something more difficult, so they have a better idea of how good their rifles, ammo, and most importantly, their talent level is. As posted above, the IBS card is way too easy. I could be wrong, but I doubt you'll see any interest from clubs in shooting IBS.

I’ll agree that the IBS 50yd card may be considered too easy but that all depends on how well you shoot against the other competitors, not the card. As for the 100yd target, that tends to weed out those who perform better. I’ve shot both targets and yes ir50/50 is tougher on its own but then you can argue the ARA Unlimited target is tougher than that one. In each case your still shooting against the crowd…

Absolutely the ARA UL card is tough, and more difficult than the IR card. PSL card is even harder. If a club wants an easier card, N50 is a really nice card and the sanctioning body has quite a bit of nationwide support.

If you are talking serious benchrest there are thousands of ARA shooters all over the US that know exactly what you are talking about. Shoot IBS and 50 shooters at 3 or 4 clubs on the east coast know what you are talking about. Make the pond really really small and even a little fish becomes a big fish.
